God’s name - Jehovah Jireh, appears only once in the Bible in Genesis 22. It tells us the story of Abraham when God instructed him to give his son Isaac back to the LORD as a sacrifice. There is a song that was made popular a few years back by the Christian contemporary group, Philips, Craig, & Dean. The title is “I Want To Be Just Like You.” It’s a song about a father who realizes that his son is not only watching him but is trying to follow in his shoes and he is expressing his desire to God to be a godly example for his son to follow. Some of the lyrics are: “Lord, I want to be just like you because he wants to be just like me, I want to be a holy example for his innocent eyes to see”. Paul warns us in 2 Timothy 3:12 that “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” Revelation 11 brings us to the midpoint of the Tribulation as God raises up two witnesses sent into the world to proclaim the gospel message. The world will hate these witnesses and their message and rejoice as the antichrist murders them and displays their dead bodies in the streets of Jerusalem for all to see.
